Riding Lessons

Grand Valley Equestrian will help you find confidence in and out of the ring, through knowledgeable, experienced and proven coaching.

We provide quality coaching and guidance from grass roots to the Grand Prix ring. We outline individual programs, keeping the rider/horse combination in mind. This allows for individual budgets, goals and flexibility within our program.
We are passionate about sharing our love for the Hunter and Jumper ring and are motivated to bring this world of competitive riding to the Elk Valley.

Grand Valley Equestrian’s Goals

We have consistent success in accelerating beginner riders with a focus on perfecting equitation under saddle and over fences. We want you to gain a professional understanding of course ride-ability. Understanding and communication between horse and rider is the key to success no matter what the personal goal is. We allow riders to reach new heights by setting appropriate short and long term goals in our lesson program.

About our lesson program

Our lesson horse program is designed with the novice rider in mind. Riders will have access to two lesson per week. A combination of private lessons, semi private and group lessons are provided. Alicia and Christine create a team approach, allowing our riders a broad educational experience. Our focus is in the ring, allowing our time to be spent progressing our skills to reach new heights. Later, we shift focus to include horsemanship seminars to prepare for all your future endeavours outside the ring.

Our owned horse program is designed to be all inclusive. Accessing our professional team is a big advantage, while dealing with the limited resources in the valley. From farrier, vet and nutrition to equine body work, we continue to strive to put the horses best hoof forward. Under our guidance, our riders are able to obtain their goals, whether it be compete in the hunter ring for the first time or winning red in the grass ring, and everything in between. We believe in a strong base of equitation, which translates to ride-ability and high performance. Understanding that communication between rider and horse is key to success we format a program that is based on having a strong foundation.
